It's interesting to see how that works on Substack too. People figure out how the algorithm works and exploit it, so the algorithm is changed somewhat, and people game the system again. Instead of writing articles that are creative and increase knowledge, the incentive is to write to get likes and subscribers.
It's not that the system is totally broken. There's lots of good things on Substack. But it has degenerated from what it was. Lots more trolling than there was. Less perceptive thought and conversation.
I love Alejandro Dumas. As a teacher, an experienced one, with over 40 years, I do know what you are talking about. And I´m a novelist, so I liked it.
